Rood & Riddle’s name is synonymous with fine surgical expertise. Our board certified surgeons are among the most respected in the world both for their skills and their development of innovative procedures, techniques and advances in equine surgery. The sophisticated equipment and the latest in technology in the surgical suites, anesthesia rooms, recovery stalls and treatment rooms enable our surgery staff to achieve superior results in soft-tissue and orthopedic cases.
Rood & Riddle has 2 surgery facilities. Surgery I in the main building houses 3 general anesthesia operating rooms, 2 prep areas and 5 recovery stalls. There is also a special procedures room for standing surgeries. Surgery II is available to support additional case load of the 5 surgeons and has 2 main operating areas with 3 recovery stalls.
Rood & Riddle performs over 5,000 surgeries each year. The 5 staff surgeons are board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Each surgeon is skilled in multiple disciplines and is specialized in one or more areas, which gives our clients access to a high degree of proficiency in a wide range of surgical services. Every case is handled by a surgical team headed by the chief surgeon, who is assisted by an anesthesiologist, a team of interns and a technical support staff that is responsible for monitoring every case from pre-op through follow-up care.
