On Thursday, August 16 nearly 300 people represented farms, veterinary practices and sales agencies from all over the country at Rood & Riddle's first "Veterinary Concerns at Yearling Sales" seminar. The attendees heard 4 world-renowned Rood & Riddle veterinarians discuss the changes in sale conditions at Keeneland and Fasig-Tipton yearling sales as well as commonly encountered veterinary terminology and what it really means to the value of a yearling.

Many people were surprised at the candid nature of the panel discussion. Quotes like Dr. Larry Bramlage encouraging attendees to "Buy that horse. you're going to get a good deal and it will run well." made people excited at the possibility of using this new information to get great horses at a reasonable price.

The videos of the seminar are posted above and show:
Dr. Scott Pierce (a world-renowned expert in yearling upper airway examinations) discussing his process of examining yearlings. (Video 1)
Dr. Bart Barber (a partner at Rood & Riddle with a thriving yearling and broodmare practice) discussing the changes in the conditions of sale regarding veterinary reports. (Video 1)
Dr. Debbie Spike-Pierce (an internationally respected yearling sales veterinarian) discussing radiographic issues with sales yearlings and what the terminology or the radiograph truly means to a horse's race potential. (Video 2)
Dr. Larry Bramlage (world famous orthopedic surgeon and racing expert) giving his opinion on yearlings and their race potential. (Videos 1 and 2)
