Hats Off Day Announces Charitable Contributions to Kentucky Equine Humane Center and Kentucky Horse Park Foundation

Lexington, Ky. (Jan. 13, 2015) – Hats Off Day, an initiative started by Rood & Riddle, is announcing a combined donation amount of over $76,000 to the Kentucky Equine Humane Center and Kentucky Horse Park Foundation.

"Hats Off Day and the Rood & Riddle Grand Prix provide the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation with much-needed philanthropic support, and we are proud and humbled to be named one of the charitable beneficiaries of this terrific event,” said Laura Klumb, executive director of the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation. "Funding received through Hats Off Day is vital to the foundation’s mission to provide operating and special project support to the Kentucky Horse Park, making sure that the park’s visitor attractions and competition facilities are maintained and improved constantly for our nearly one million annual guests to enjoy.”

Since Hats Off Day’s inception 11 years ago, the event has provided over $675,000 dollars to charitable organizations.

"Hats off Day is one of two major fundraisers for the Kentucky Equine Humane Center, so it is essential to the funding of the Kentucky Equine Humane Center,” said Karen Gustin, executive director of the Kentucky Equine Humane Center. "Hats Off Day is a great event and we are grateful to Rood & Riddle for including us.”

For over a decade, Hats off Day has provided the only day of the year with free admission tothe Kentucky Horse Park. In addition to raising funds for important equine charities, the event offersan afternoon of family fun and educational activities, while creating awareness of the vital role of Kentucky's horse industry. Major sponsors includeRood and Riddle, Spy Coast Farm, Central Bank, Zoetis, L.V. Harkness,Boehringer-Ingelheim and Merial.
